6 Ways to Energize before a Workout

We all have those days when it’s time to work out, but we are feeling sluggish, slow, and unmotivated. Maybe we didn’t get enough sleep. Or we are dragging our feet because it’s cold outside…

No matter why you’re feeling tired, consistency is key to getting great results in the gym, so let’s talk about the top 6 things you can do to boost your energy levels, gain momentum, and meet your exercise goals!

Tip #1: Fuel up on high-energy snacks

If you’re feeling sluggish, try eating a high-energy snack like a protein bar, a banana, or some trail mix. Any snack that has natural sugars and protein will get your bloodstream pumping and ready for the workout ahead of you.

Tip #2: Listen to high-energy music

If you have plans to make it to the gym, but are having trouble getting started, try playing some fast-paced music on high volume. There is nothing more motivating than fast-paced music with strong beats like hip-hop, rock’n’roll, and pop.

Tip #3: Hydrate

One of the main reasons our bodies can feel slow and tired is because of not drinking enough water. Staying hydrated can prevent weakness, dizziness, and even nausea. Our bodies tend to lose a lot of water through sweat, so the next time you plan to work out make sure to hydrate and replenish your electrolytes before getting started.

Tip #4: Get inspired with motivational quotes, photos, or podcasts

There are some days when motivation doesn’t come easy and we need something extra to inspire us to exercise! Reading motivational quotes, reading inspiring books, looking at encouraging photos, or listening to stimulating podcasts can all help with getting ourselves out of our heads and into the gym. So the next time you’re feeling unmotivated, save some motivational content on your phone for easy inspiration when you make it to the gym.

Tip #5: Meditation

Similar to finding inspirational content to help us feel motivated, meditation can rewire our minds so we can make good choices, even when we don’t want to. Working out consistently can be a hard ask for a lot of people, so training our minds to feel relaxed and rested can be a huge help. Meditation can improve concentration, decrease stress, and balance out our emotions so we can crush it in the gym, even when motivation doesn’t come easy!

Tip #6: Energizing Supplements

Lastly, one of the easiest ways to energize before a workout is to take a supplement like HILO Caffeine Free Energize Pre-workout Gummies. These gummies can help you commit to your workouts in a jittery-free, high-energy kind of way. HILO uses ingredients from nature like beetroot, maca, rhodiola, and lion’s mane which are excellent sources of energy, help reduce fatigue, and help you perform better by delivering oxygen to your muscles and extending your endurance and performance.
